The H.A.R.P. Museum at the Irish Cultural Center of the Mohawk Valley is excited to host two fun and educational Lunch & Learn sessions for kids aged 8-14 on Saturday, January 25, 2025.

We’re diving into the Gaelic festival of Imbolc, celebrated in Ireland in early February, which honors St. Brigid - a patron saint of Ireland - and Brigid the goddess.

Here’s the scoop:

Morning Session: Meet the Author!

Time: 11:00 AM

Kids will connect with Irish author Síne Quinn over Zoom to explore the incredible life of St. Brigid. Síne, a creative writing facilitator at Trinity College Dublin, will share stories from her book Holy Shocking Saints, which dives into the lives of Ireland’s most fascinating saints. (Spoiler alert: St. Brigid is full of surprises!)

Afternoon Session: Get Crafty!

Time: 1:00 PM

Let’s get hands-on! Kids will learn to weave a traditional St. Brigid’s Cross using pipe cleaners and rushes straight from Ireland. Don’t worry - our awesome volunteers will be there to help every step of the way.
