Get ready for an exciting day of storytelling, adventure, and hands-on fun as we bring history to life at the H.A.R.P. Museum! This free program is designed for kids aged 8-14 and is packed with interactive activities, a delicious lunch, and unforgettable memories.
Morning Session: 11:00 a.m.
A Storytime Adventure:
Join us as a special guest reads from “Erie Canal Cousins” by local author Dorothy Stacy. Follow Rose, Charles, and the Finnegan family aboard the "Flying Eagle" as they journey down the Erie Canal from Albany to Utica.
Bonus for Every Kid: Each child will receive a FREE, autographed copy of the book to take home!
Lunch for Kids: Served at noon, right after the session.
Afternoon Session: 1:00 p.m.
Interactive Show with Captain Kelsey:
Step into history with Captain Kelsey, an Erie Canal boat pilot looking for brave new mule drivers (hoggees)! Captain Kelsey-portrayed by the talented Michele Henry-will share hilarious and heartwarming tales from life on the canal.
Lunch for Kids: Served at noon, just before the program begins.
