Bigi linn! (Join us!)
The Irish Cultural Center of the Mohawk Valley is thrilled to host our very first Irish Ceili Dance on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 7:00 PM - and we want you there! Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or have two left feet, we promise a night of laughter, lively tunes, and community spirit.
Wait, What’s a Ceili Dance?
Think of it as Ireland’s answer to square dancing or contra-dancing, but with an extra dash of Irish charm! Expect jigs, reels, and waltzes that will have your toes tapping in no time. No need to worry about knowing the steps - we’ve got that covered!
Meet the Maestro: Pat Kane & Friends
Bringing the tunes and calling the steps is none other than Pat Kane, a beloved musician and dance caller from New York’s Southern Tier. Pat is a singer, dancer, actor, and multi-instrumentalist who grew up surrounded by the traditions of the Grange and his Irish heritage. His family farm in West Clare, Ireland still stands proudly, and he brings that authentic spirit to every performance.
Pat and his talented musician friends will guide you through the moves, making sure everyone is up and dancing like a true Irish reveler. Prefer to sit back and soak in the music? That’s perfectly fine, too!
Accessibility
The H.A.R.P. Museum is fully wheelchair accessible, and everyone is welcome. Whether you come to dance, watch, or simply enjoy the music, it’s sure to be a night to remember!
So grab your friends, dust off those dancing shoes, and join us for a grand Ceili at the Irish Cultural Center. Sláinte! ☘️
