The Irish Cultural Center of the Mohawk Valley is calling all young adventurers for a day of laughter, learning, and lively dancing on Thursday, April 24, 2025. Join us for two free, family-friendly Lunch & Learn sessions that will bring history and culture to life!
Morning Fun: Captain Kelsey's Erie Canal Adventure
Time: 10:30 AM
Set sail back in time with Captain Kelsey, a charismatic Erie Canal boat pilot who’s got plenty of tall tales to share. Expect a few wild misadventures, as the good captain recruits brave young hoggees (mule drivers) to join his canal crew. Full of laughter and interactive storytelling, it’s an unforgettable adventure for all ages!
Afternoon Delight: Irish Dance Extravaganza
Time: 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM
Get ready to kick up your heels! The talented performers from the Butler-Sheehan Academy of Traditional Irish Dance will whisk you away into the world of jigs, reels, and rich Irish tradition. You’ll learn about the origins of Irish dancing, watch dazzling performances, and even join in for a dance that’s fun for beginners. No experience? No problem!

Who: Kids aged 8-14 of all backgrounds
Cost: Absolutely FREE
Lunch: Provided for participants at noon
Parents/Guardians: Welcome to watch (adults will need to cover their own lunch)
