The Irish Cultural Center of the Mohawk Valley is back with the next film in our Spring Irish Film Series! On Thursday, April 24th at 7 PM, we’re screening the stunning animated film "Song of the Sea", and trust us, you don’t want to miss it.
The story follows Ben, a 10-year-old Irish boy (voiced by David Rawle), who has a tough time dealing with the loss of his mom. He’s convinced his mute sister Saoirse is to blame for what happened - until he finds out she’s actually a selkie (a magical creature) with the power to set free trapped faerie creatures. It's an emotional rollercoaster with gorgeous animation, all wrapped up in Irish folklore.
Join us at the H.A.R.P. Museum (second floor of the Irish Cultural Center). The best part? The movie is free to watch! Just make sure to register ahead of time - you can sign up by e-mailing info@iccmv.org or leave a message at 315-733-4228 Ext. 6. Oh, and the venue is wheelchair accessible, so everyone can join in.
A huge thank you to Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon (D-119, Marcy) for securing the grant that makes this film series possible. It’s all thanks to the Legislative Initiative Program, which supports local educational and recreational programs.
We can’t wait to see you there for a magical night of Irish cinema! ☘️
