The H.A.R.P. Museum at the Irish Cultural Center of the Mohawk Valley continues its popular “Lunch and Learn” series on Wednesday, July 9th at 11 AM, when local writer, author, and historian Joe Kelly will present a history of the Utica Boilermaker road race.
The Roar of the Crowd, Stilt Guy, and Free Beer!
Started as a local 15K road race in 1978, it rapidly evolved into a world-class event attracting elite runners from all walks of life from across the globe. Just as important, however, are the inspiring stories of the human spirit overcoming all kinds of challenges to be able to participate in this global event.
The Boilermaker Road Race is renowned for attracting top-tier international runners, often including Olympians and world record holders. Past winners and participants showcase the caliber of talent drawn to this prestigious 15K race.
