Create An Ogham Pendant

Celebrate your Irish heritage by creating your own treasured keepsake!

On Wednesday, July 15th, local writer and musician Sue Romero will be leading a workshop where attendees will be creating their own keepsake pendant inscribed with a personalized message written in “ogham,” the early medieval alphabet of Ireland. Sue will begin with a brief history of ogham writing, and then will guide everyone through the process of making a pendant from polymer clay, inscribed with a word of their choice in ogham. At the end, besides learning about Ireland’s ancient language, each attendee will be going home with a completed necklace that honors his or her interest in Ireland; suitable for wearing or passing down to future generations.

Meet Our Speaker

Sue is a freelance writer, substitute teacher and musician with the local traditional Irish group, Craobh Dugan-O’Looney. A frequent presenter at the H.A.R.P. Museum, she enjoys sharing what she continues to learn about her Irish heritage.
