The Irish Cultural Center of the Mohawk Valley welcomes back – from Walt Disney World’s Raglan Road Irish Pub by way of Dublin, Ireland — the Byrne Brothers
Maybe you caught them at the 2019 Great American Irish Festival in Frankfort, when Central New York got their first look at them. Maybe you were in attendance at the Five Points Pub when they showed up with members of the Colin Farrell Band and We Banjo 3 and joined members of Craobh Dugan-O’Looney in a post-GAIF session. Or maybe you crowded into the Pub when they took the stage some months later for a night of great music, laughs, and memorable moments (like when the youngest brother, Dempsey, climbed out a window during his bodhran solo and re-entered from the patio door, all without missing a beat). In any case, you can see them – or see them again – on April 22, 2022; this time, in the Cultural Center’s Event Room.
The Byrne Brothers – Luca (17), Finn (15) and Dempsey (12), along with dad, Tommy – are a family of musicians from Dublin who, despite their ages, have garnered multiple awards and championships for their dancing, banjo, mandolin, guitar, bodhran and button accordion skills, and the 2016 video of their ad hoc performance on a Galway street got 3.4 million views, making it the most viewed video from Ireland that year.
Their talent will be on full display in the spacious Event Room, from 7-10 PM. Advance sale tickets for the concert are $25, and are available either at Eventbrite (here), or at the Five Points Pub. Tickets at the door on the night of the show are $30.
