A meeting will be held at the Irish Cultural Center of the Mohawk Valley on August 17 at 7 p.m. to discuss the formation of an Irish Book Club.
The Irish Book Club is being formed to give interested readers an opportunity to get together with like-minded people to discuss Irish-themed literature.
While books of all genres and eras, from classics to current books, are suitable for discussions, all books selected must have some Irish connection, whether author, subject, or location.
At each meeting a previously selected book will be discussed in a social, non-academic setting, and the book to be discussed at the following meeting will be selected.
The organizational meeting, which is open to any interested readers, will establish guidelines regarding topics such as starting date, meeting schedule, guidelines as to appropriate books, meeting format and selection of the first book to be discussed.
Anyone interested in joining the Irish Book Club is encouraged to register on Eventbrite.com. Walk-ins are also welcome.
